UNLV football adds Vanderbilt to future schedule

It was announced today by UNLV Athletics Director, Desiree Reed-Francois, that the Rebels will play a home-and-home series with Vanderbilt.

This will be the first time the two schools will play against each other.

UNLV is scheduled to play Vanderbilt at the Commodores’ home in Nashville on October 12, 2019. Vanderbilt will then play UNLV at the Rebels’ home on September 16, 2023.

UNLV will also kick off the 2019 season against Southern Utah at Sam Boyd Stadium on August 31.

According to UNLVRebels, UNLV has only played against three other SEC teams in the past. They played at Tennessee twice in 1996 and 2004, Ole Miss in 2000, and Arkansas in 2001.

Vanderbilt will be just the second SEC team to play against UNLV in Las Vegas, with the first being Arkansas, in the Las Vegas Bowl, in 2000. UNLV defeated Arkansas 31-14.
