GALLERY: Coronado opens up with close win over Bulldogs

The two-time Sunrise region champion, ranked #3 by the Review-Journal, Cougars (1-0) held tight to pull out an at-home win over Centennial (0-1) in a 59-58 shootout. The first quarter seemed lopsided with Coronado sliding into the second with an 8-point lead that didn’t seem to fluctuate until the Bulldogs picked up the pace and went on a scoring spree to pull within three at the half.

The game was an early test for each team ahead of conference play.
