AUDIO- Greg Wyshynski weighs in on start of 2018-19 NHL Season, Golden Knights, Gritty

The Senior NHL Writer at ESPN/co-host of The Puck Soup Podcast joins Adam Hill & Mark Seidel on Cofield & Company to discuss the start of the 2018-2019 season in the NHL, the Golden Knights’ win over the Sabres following their road trip, Gritty vs. other mascots, Seattle, NHL expansion and more.

Wyshynski discusses the Golden Knights inaugural season, “People forget that one of the reasons why things went so well last season was the confidence, having so many games at home off the bat.”

Wyshynski adds, “Fleury has proven himself to be a difference maker.”

Wyshynski talks of surprises in the beginning of the NHL season, “The Carolina Hurricanes have shot out of the gate like a rocket, along with having a novice coach like Rod Brind’Amour.”

Wyshynski says of the Flyers mascot Gritty, “The thing with Gritty, we don’t really know what he is going to do in game yet, what kind of antics. The googly eyes are great but until I know exactly what to expect from this guy in the rink, I can’t rank him at number one.”
