AUDIO – Ickey Woods is back in Vegas this weekend!

It’s Salute to the 80s night this Saturday as UNLV football hosts Arkansas State.

The honorary captain is former Rebels running back Ickey Woods.

Before going to the Cincinnati Bengals with the 31st pick in the 1988 NFL Draft, Ickey was the nation’s leading rusher.

He spoke with Cofield and Company about his amazing rookie season in the NFL, the appearance in Super Bowl 23, the “Ickey Shuffle” and Jovante Woods Foundation.

Woods will be on hand from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Rebel Block Party outside the stadium to sign autographs for fans in exchange for a $20 donation to his Jovante Woods Foundation for awareness and work for those who suffer from asthma. Woods’ son Jovante died at the age of 16 in 2010 due to complications from asthma and Ickey has devoted himself to do all that he can to combat the deadly disease.

In addition, The Ickey Woods Celebrity Golf Tournament this weekend at Bali Hai Golf Club will benefit the Jovante Woods Foundation. CLICK HERE for more information on the tournament.

Now in his 22nd year in sports talk radio, Steve Cofield is the voice Las Vegas turns to every afternoon. Whether it’s breaking sports stories or insightful, thought-provoking commentary, Cofield never holds back. “Did you hear what Cofield said?” is a common refrain among sports fans around the West and the leading reason why no other radio group will dare try going local with a sports show from 3-6p PT.
