AUDIO – Curtis Terry on UNLV’s removal of Hey Reb, “I think if it’s something that offends other people and they feel it’s racially charged, it’s a conversation that needs to be had.”

UNLV has removed the Hey Reb statue and is looking into possibly changing the mascot and logo, as well.

Former Runnin Rebel Curtis Terry (UNLV MBB analyst) joined us on Cofield & Co. to discuss the changes and give his opinion as an alum and former student athlete. He said there is definitely a need for people to have conversations and listen to one another.

Terry said it doesn’t matter where he stands and that if people are offended by it, then it needs to be addressed, especially during this time in America, in which most people are very emotional and sensitive.

We also talked about changing the name and whether or not “The Sharks” could ever be an option for both the name and the mascot/logo.
